Kathryn Summersett, soprano and certified McClosky voice technician, is currently in Bloomington, IN earning her Doctor of Music at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. She received her MM from the University of North Texas and her BM from the University of Massachusetts. She has enjoyed regularly performing with groups such as Liber: Ensemble for Early Music, Fort Wayne Bach Collegium, Les Touches, Pro Arte: Saint Louis, and Shakespeare's Ear.
Kathryn has been heard as a featured soloist at notable programs such as the in Boston Early Music Festival 2009-2013, Bloomington Early Music Festival 2014 and 2015, Berkeley Early Music Festival 2014, Mountainside Baroque 2011-2016, Florence Voice Seminar (Florence, Italy), Amherst Early Music (New London, CT), Academia D'Amore (Seattle, WA), Indy Baroque, and the Lute Society of America conference.
In 2016, Kathryn performed the role of Polly in Beggars Opera for Mountainside Baroque. During her time at Indiana University, she has performed roles in J.B. Lully's Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, Massenet’s Cendrillon, Venus in John Blow's Venus and Adonis, La Paix and La Sagessa in Lully's Armide and Proserpine, as well as directing and producing productions such as Purcell Project: A Masque in 2013, Musica Dolce for the 2014 Bloomington Early Music Festival, and Hildegard von Bingen’s Ordo Virtutum and Heaven versus Earth: A Soul's Moral Predicament.
